Congrats! and the week April 17-23

Congratulations Sarah on getting a scholarship!  We are so thrilled for you and all the hard work that you put in to earn 1/2 tuition! You are fantastic. You really are a dedicated student and we appreciate the hours you "work" to get good grades.
Congrats also to getting into the 2D Art major! Yea for you. We know what incredible talent you have--and now someone else has recognized that too! Dad and I both loved our art classes at BYU. We are glad that you can keep your fingers "in the paint!" For me, it was always my tension relief class. I needed to paint weekly or I went nutty.

Congrats to Ishel who turned in her scholarship application--on time! You are the champ--we hope that you get it.

No trip for Spring Break this year...this week-we ordered a new liner for the pool. Big Bucks, but will make a big splash in a month when it is installed.

Sunday   We had the annual watching of BEN HUR on Sunday night and Monday night. Classic Charlton Heston! We couldn't find the 10 Commandments.

MOnday  Worked in the garden. Yummy. Beach!! Windy but warm.  This was also our last day of downloading stock photos. We officially have 20 books on Barnes and Noble.com. And, I have 15 books to write (we have the photos for...)! Yea to Dad who completed our tax extension just in time, and to me--who find a way to postmark it before midnight. Post offices are not open until midnight here...they close at 5 p.m. (I sent it certified mail--it post marked the correct date).

Tuesday Ishel finished drawings for The Rainbow Butterfly Book! I haven't seen them all, but the ones I have seen--super cute! Mimi and JJ went to YMV for classes. Then JJ went to Busch Gardens with Dalton Palmer. Ishel went to Burtons, and Mimi, Ashelee and Aubree Udy and I went and saw HOP.  Very cute movie. Dad went to play tennis. Grandma and I went to a Celiac meeting that night. It was great to talk to others and hear their stories. There are lots of different degrees of intolerance. We are still working on recipes that work. It is good though. We watched Harry Potter with the Ankney's Tuesday night.

Wednesday   Whoo Hooo! Today at the thrift store we hit the jackpot! JJ got 7 pairs of (plaid) shorts and 2 t-shirts, Ishel 2 tops, Mimi 4 shorts and 4 tops, 2 games, and a salad spinner to give to the Elders! All for $34.00. We felt very blessed and see the Lord's hand, even in our shopping. Then we ran home to make lunch with the Elders, and Jacob Ankney--we taught them how to make egg rolls, fried rice, white rice, and stir fry. Super yummy. Ishel and Mimi are watching Tangled with the Young Women tonight. Dad has meetings. *My Egg-Mail article was published again in the LDS National Homeschool Newsletter. I feel so honored... http://ldsnhe.org/sentinel_19April2011_BP.html

Thursday-Work on Emergency Prep. (take photos of the house and print them on paper!) Add to our Emergency Prep. Binder. Garden! We are planting potatoes and tomatoes. Yummy. PROM dress shopping.
Seminary party at 5 p.m. Make up days and we will watch "The Work and the Glory" movie and make dinner together.

Friday-I am getting my haircut! Special movie night and coloring eggs.

Saurday-Easter baskets arrive. Mormon Prom! Ishel is going with Joel Rodriguez.

Sunday-We celebrate Easter by remembering Christ. Easter Bunny on Saturday-Christ on Sunday. We will have a special lesson and Ankney's for dinner.

Tuesday--SARAH Day! Can't wait for you to come! Sorry no Easter basket at college--next year I'll be better!

Read an ebook!

hi babe! Can't believe you will be home in 2 WEEKS! Can't wait. Hope all goes well with finals. We pray for you and love you so much.

Things here are good. Dad and I are down to our last 6 days of downloading photos. It has been tough (but fun) to put together ebooks. We've had to find 750 photos in 30 days. I have books just waiting to be put together...I just have the photos right now. It's good, we can put them together in a few weeks when life gets a little calmer.
Grandma went to the doctor and found out that she has Celiac desease. That means she can't eat gluten--which means no bread and no pasta. Just our 2 main staples of our life. It;s good though, we've done a ton of research and have come up with almost two months worth of dinners that are totally gluten-free.
The pool people come today to give us an estimate on what a new pool liner would cost, ouch. last night JJ, Mimi and I were raking leaves in the rain and dark to get ready to take the pool cover off today. My back and arms are sore.
Seminary is going well. Everyone keeps coming. We made muffins today and pop-overs yesterday. Yummy. We learned a new way to organize our lessons as we prepare them, and it really helps-if I can find time to read all of the background information. This has been one of our toughest years yet, I am thankful the Lord has given me a calling that gives me so may blessings. I really believe that sometimes we get challenging callings so the Lord can bless us with everything He really wants to bless us with. I am always amazed. The kids are so good in our ward. I am thankful for so many good parents and families that support them. I love that I get to bear my testimony everyday.
We love you. Mom
